WKU Soccer wraps up its preseason with an exhibition match against the University of the Cumberlands on Friday, Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. (CT) in Williamsburg, Ky., at the UC Lacrosse/Soccer Complex. The match will not be streamed, but live stats will be available.

Friday’s match marks the second and final preseason exhibition for the Hilltoppers, who previously faced Chattanooga on Monday, Aug. 5, ending in a 0-0 draw. WKU will officially kick off the 2024 season on the road against Austin Peay on Thursday, Aug. 15, with their home opener set for Thursday, Aug. 22, against Union (Tenn.) at 7 p.m.

The Hilltoppers return 17 players from the 2023 season, bolstered by the addition of two transfers and seven freshmen. Key returners include starting goalkeeper Maddie Davis, second-leading scorer Kayla Meyer, and defensive stalwarts Aspen Seaich, Kendall Wade, and Lily Rummo.

WKU was projected to finish third in the preseason Conference USA coaches poll, behind Liberty and New Mexico State. Last season, the Hilltoppers finished third in Conference USA with a 4-2-2 record in conference play and a 6-5-7 overall record, setting a school and CUSA record with seven ties.
