In the opening round of the 2024 TBT, La Familia leveraged their home crowd advantage to secure a commanding victory over the 305 Ballers, leading throughout the match. La Familia’s balanced attack saw five players scoring in double digits, including standout performances from Kerem Kanter, Eric Bledsoe, and Andrew Harrison. Their tenacious defense held the Ballers to just 34.4% shooting from the field.
La Familia set the tone early and never looked back. Kerem Kanter led all scorers with 21 points, complemented by his dominant presence on the boards, grabbing 12 rebounds. Eric Bledsoe contributed 13 points and five assists, showcasing his playmaking skills. Andrew Harrison added 11 points and was a perfect 7-for-10 from the free-throw line, providing steady leadership.
Nate Sestina and Aaron Harrison also made significant contributions, scoring 12 and 13 points respectively, while Willie Cauley-Stein anchored the defense with three blocks and six rebounds.
Despite their struggles, the 305 Ballers mounted a spirited comeback during the ELAM ending, closing the gap with a 7-0 run. However, they ultimately fell short as La Familia’s Brennan Canada sealed the win with a made free throw.
The Ballers were led by Isaiah Reese, who scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Sherif Gross added 11 points. Their efforts were not enough to overcome the stifling defense and efficient offense of La Familia.
La Familia outshot the Ballers with a 43.9% field goal percentage and dominated the boards, securing 45 rebounds to the Ballers’ 32. The home team’s cohesive play and defensive prowess were key factors in their 82-56 victory.
