Taylor County narrowly escaped with a thrilling 60-58 victory over West Jessamine in their opening-round matchup of the 2026 KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena on March 12, 2026.
The game was a tale of two halves. Taylor County came out firing on all cylinders, shooting an incredible 78% in the first quarter to build an early 19-8 lead. They extended their advantage to as much as 17 points late in the second quarter and went into halftime comfortably ahead 34-23.
