Kentucky State women’s basketball kicks off the 2024-25 season with an exhibition game against Loyola University Chicago on Monday, Nov. 1. The game will tip off at 5 p.m. CT at the Gentile Arena in Chicago, Illinois, and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The Thorobreds head into this season after an impressive 2023-24 campaign, finishing with a 21-7 overall record and a 15-4 mark in SIAC play. Their performance secured them a share of the SIAC West Division Regular Season Championship, along with a runner-up finish at the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship.
This season marks the second year for head coach Amani Williams, who was the youngest head coach in NCAA Division II women’s basketball last season. Williams was named the 2024 SIAC Coach of the Year, a testament to her immediate impact on the program.
Loyola Chicago has already shown strength this season, beginning with a commanding 108-41 exhibition win over Elmhurst on Oct. 27. The Ramblers had five players score in double figures, led by freshman Brooklyn Vaughn with 21 points and Jess Finney with 20.
