The Kentucky Softball team has officially announced that the 2024 edition of the annual Big Blue Boo will take place on Sunday, October 20, at John Cropp Stadium. The Wildcats will face off against Tennessee with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

Event Details:

  • Big Blue Boo Tradition: As in previous years, admission to the Big Blue Boo will be free for all attendees. Gates will open 90 minutes before the game, allowing fans to enjoy both the game and the festivities, which begin at 3:30 p.m. ET. Season ticket holders and members of the Designated Players Club will receive early entry at 3 p.m. ET. Fans interested in joining the Designated Players Club can do so here.
  • Broadcast Information: Big Blue Boo 4 will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ and the ESPN app, continuing its tradition as one of the few fall games in the country available on linear or digital television. The Wildcats and Lady Vols first faced off in the original Big Blue Boo during the 2021 fall season.

Series with Tennessee:

  • Home-and-Home Matchup: The game on October 20 will be the second of a home-and-home series with Tennessee this fall. Kentucky will travel to Knoxville for the first game of the series on Saturday, October 5, with first pitch at 6 p.m. ET. Notably, the two teams will not meet during the 2025 regular season due to the updated SEC schedule rotation.

Fall Exhibition Schedule:

Kentucky also unveiled its full fall exhibition schedule:

  • Season Opener: The fall season kicks off with an away game against Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, September 22, at 1 p.m. ET in Richmond.
  • Local Matchups: UK will play a series of games against local schools, including:
  • Georgetown College on September 27
  • Morehead State on September 28
  • Lake Land College on September 29
  • Battle of the Bluegrass: Kentucky will host Louisville on October 17 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Additional Information:

  • John Cropp Stadium: All fall games at John Cropp Stadium will have free admission with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates will open one hour before the scheduled first pitch. Apart from the Big Blue Boo on October 20, there will be no operational concessions, so fans are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Wildcats are set for an exciting fall season, culminating in the much-anticipated Big Blue Boo event. Fans can look forward to enjoying the festivities and supporting the team as they take on their rivals.
