USA Basketball has trimmed its roster to 18 finalists for the 2025 Men’s U19 National Team, wrapping up three days of intense training camp at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. These young standouts, chosen from a group of 31 invitees, will now compete for a coveted spot on the final 12-man roster set to represent the United States at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland, from June 28 to July 6.

The selection committee pulled from a mix of rising college sophomores and elite high school talent from the classes of 2025 and 2026. The list of finalists reads like a who’s who of the next generation of American basketball: Mikel Brown Jr., Chris Cenac Jr., Christian Collins, Jason Crowe Jr., AJ Dybantsa, Caleb Holt, Daniel Jacobsen, Jasper Johnson, JJ Mandaquit, Morez Johnson Jr., Nik Khamenia, Brandon McCoy Jr., Royce Parham, Koa Peat, Tyrone Riley IV, Deron Rippey Jr., Tyran Stokes, and Elijah Williams.

Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd will take the reins as head coach, with Texas Tech’s Grant McCasland and Notre Dame’s Micah Shrewsberry joining him on the bench as assistants. Together, they’ll look to guide Team USA through a challenging Group D that features Australia, France, and Cameroon. The Americans have a storied history against their group foes, holding a 4-2 edge over Australia and a 6-1 mark against France, while their matchup with Cameroon will be a first on this stage.

Since its inception in 1979, the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup has grown into one of the premier showcases for young basketball talent. The United States has claimed gold eight times, most recently in 2021, and will look to add another chapter to its legacy in Switzerland this summer.
