The Western Kentucky women’s tennis program bolstered its 2025-26 roster on Thursday, May 29, 2025, as head coach Greg Davis announced the signing of Seton Hall transfer Isabelle Einess. The former top-80 junior in the country brings a winning pedigree and high energy to a Hilltoppers squad coming off a historic season.

A Proven Talent Joins the Tops

Einess arrives at WKU after a strong freshman campaign at Seton Hall, where she posted a 5-1 record in spring dual matches, competing across the No. 3 through No. 6 singles positions. She notched victories over Saint Joseph’s, Sacred Heart, Hofstra, Georgetown, and Monmouth, showcasing her versatility and consistency.

“I’m really excited to have Isabelle coming aboard in the fall of 2025,” Davis said. “She was one of the top juniors in the country, a top-80 junior, so she’s somebody who I think is going to come in and help us somewhere in the top of the lineup in singles and help us in doubles as well. She fits our culture—hard worker, high motor, high energy, and she’s very good in the classroom.”

Before her collegiate career, Einess dominated at Breck School in Minnesota, capping her high school tenure with 47 consecutive match wins and 115 straight games won. She claimed the Class A Girls Tennis Singles state championship twice and was a finalist as a sophomore. Ranked No. 1 in Minnesota, Einess was named The Minnesota Star Tribune’s Metro Girls Tennis Player of the Year, cementing her status as one of the state’s all-time greats.

Building a Formidable Roster

Einess becomes the fifth newcomer to join WKU’s 2025-26 squad, alongside Arkansas State transfer Ariadna Fernandez, Bradley transfer Andra Sirbu, and incoming freshmen Barbara Olvera and Virginia Madueño Pita. The Hilltoppers also return key pieces from last season’s roster, including Emily Schut, Elizabeth Sobieski, and Carolina Chiatti, giving Davis a blend of experience and fresh talent.

“Isabelle’s the kind of player who can make an immediate impact,” Davis added. “With the returners we have and the other newcomers, we’re building something special for next season.”

Reflecting on a Historic 2025

WKU is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw them finish 15-10 overall, tying for the third-most wins in a single season in program history. The Hilltoppers were especially dominant at home, posting a 12-6 record at the WKU Tennis Complex—tying the program record for most home wins in a season. With Einess and the other additions, WKU aims to take another step forward in the ultracompetitive Conference USA landscape.

The Big Picture

The signing of Isabelle Einess signals WKU’s intent to compete at a higher level in 2025-26. Her proven track record, both in high school and at Seton Hall, along with her fit within Davis’ high-energy culture, makes her a perfect addition to a program on the rise. As the Hilltoppers gear up for the fall, fans will be eager to see how Einess and her new teammates mesh in Bowling Green.
