Grace Phillpotts, who played a pivotal role in leading Kentucky women’s soccer to its first NCAA Tournament win in a decade last fall, has signed a professional contract with Brooklyn FC in New York. The team is one of eight inaugural members of the USL Super League, a Division One professional women’s soccer league, and will compete this spring.

In her final season at Kentucky, Phillpotts started all 21 matches, logging a career-high 1,799 minutes. She also scored her first collegiate goal, tied her career-best with four assists for the fourth consecutive season, and earned All-SEC First Team and United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region First Team honors.

Phillpotts will join Brooklyn FC as they gear up for the second half of their USL Super League season. The team’s next match is against Tampa Bay Sun FC on Saturday, February 22, followed by a return to their home field at Maimonides Park on Saturday, March 15.

Brooklyn FC Sporting Director Kevin Tenjo praised Phillpotts’ skillset, stating, “We are excited to welcome Grace to Brooklyn. Her versatility makes her a valuable asset as we work to build on this season’s success. Grace brings a strong defensive presence along with an offensive edge, and we’re excited to see the impact she’ll have on our backline.”

Phillpotts shared her excitement about the move, saying, “I am extremely excited to join Brooklyn FC and begin this new chapter. I am thrilled to contribute to a team that values community, teamwork, and success, and I am looking forward to connecting with the fans and representing Brooklyn FC!”
