The University of Louisville women’s tennis team is preparing for its third tournament of the fall season as they travel to Tennessee for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, hosted by Middle Tennessee State at the MTSU Tennis Complex.
This regional tournament will feature 24 teams from Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The event includes 32 players in the doubles main draw and 112 singles players across both the main and qualifying draws. Singles action kicks off at 10 a.m. ET, with the doubles schedule to be announced.
A coveted spot at the season-ending NCAA Division I Individual Championships, scheduled for November 19-24 in Waco, Texas, will be up for grabs. Both the doubles champion and the singles champion and finalist will qualify.
The Cardinals will be represented by Germany Davis, Elena Noguero, Elisabeth Iila, and Berta Miret in the singles qualifying draw, while Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina will compete in the main singles draw.
UofL heads into the tournament with momentum after a strong showing at the Martha Thorn Invitational last weekend, where Davis, Iila, and Noguero each advanced to the finals in their respective flights.
With a blend of talent and experience, the Cardinals look to continue their successful fall season as they vie for spots at the NCAA Individual Championships.
