A contingent of Kentucky’s finest will take center stage this week as six Wildcats gear up to compete at the Toyota USA Swimming National Championships, held June 3-7 at the Indiana University Indianapolis Natatorium. Maddy Hartley, Carson Hick, Grace Frericks, Ryan Merani, Devin Naoroz, and Levi Sandidge will don the blue and white, each aiming to leave their mark in multiple events over the course of the prestigious long course meet.
Coming off standout junior campaigns, Maddy Hartley and Grace Frericks headline Kentucky’s women’s representatives. Hartley kicks off her week in the 200 butterfly, the same event where she reached the finals at the 2025 SEC Championships. Frericks, meanwhile, will contest the 200 backstroke, an event in which she placed 47th at the NCAA Championships and seventh at SECs earlier this year.
On the men’s side, the Wildcats will be well-represented across 13 events. Carson Hick, fresh off an All-American season, is set for a grueling schedule in the 800, 1500, 200, and 400 freestyle. Hick’s 2025 campaign saw him qualify for three NCAA events, finishing sixth in the mile and 11th in the half mile.
Ryan Merani, another NCAA qualifier, will compete in the 200 IM, 200 butterfly, and 100 butterfly. Devin Naoroz, coming off a breakout year, is slated for the 50 and 100 backstroke. Rounding out the group, Levi Sandidge returns to the pool where he earned SEC silver in the mile, and will also swim the 800 freestyle, 400 IM, and 400 freestyle.
With competition beginning daily at 10 a.m. ET, these six Wildcats are not just racing for national honors, they’re sharpening their skills for another run at collegiate glory in Lexington next season. Kentucky swimming’s next wave is ready to make a splash in Indianapolis.
