The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to return to action following the holiday break, competing at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational on Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11. The two-day event will be hosted by the University of Kentucky at the state-of-the-art Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville’s West End.

The meet kicks off on Friday at 12:00 p.m. ET with the men’s and women’s high jump events, while track events start at 3:00 p.m. ET with the first round of the women’s 60m. Spectators can enjoy free admission, with parking available in nearby surface lots for a $5 fee.

The Invitational will feature a competitive field of 15 schools, including seven Power Four programs such as Cincinnati, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Purdue, and UCF, alongside Louisville and Kentucky.

Louisville athletes enter the meet after a strong start to the season, having competed in two early December events: the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener and the Louisville Opener. Across these meets, the Cardinals posted 25 performances that currently rank among the top 10 in program history.

A standout performance came from freshman Geoffrey Kirwa, who set a program record in the men’s 5000m with an impressive time of 13:46.14.

The Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational promises an exciting weekend of competition as the Cardinals aim to continue building on their early-season momentum.
