The University of Louisville football program took a significant step in strengthening its offensive line Friday, announcing the signings of Naeer Jackson and Mahamane Moussa. The pair brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the Cardinals as they prepare for the 2025 season.
Jackson’s Journey to the Cards
Naeer Jackson joins Louisville after anchoring Florida International University’s offensive line for the past two seasons. The 6-foot-4 lineman started 24 consecutive games for the Panthers, including 12 starts at guard in 2024. A preseason All-CUSA Third Team selection, Jackson also started every game during the 2023 campaign, showcasing his durability and consistency.
Moussa Reunites with Brohm
Mahamane Moussa, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound transfer from Purdue, reunites with Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, who coached the Boilermakers during Moussa’s early years in West Lafayette. Moussa brings 40 games of experience, including 30 starts split between left tackle and left guard.
The redshirt senior was a cornerstone of Purdue’s offensive line in 2023, starting all 12 games at left guard and helping the Boilermakers lead the Big Ten in rushing during conference play, averaging 184.6 yards per game. Purdue’s 2,029 rushing yards that season marked the program’s best output since 2012.
An Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2022, Moussa played in 14 games that season with nine starts, further demonstrating his reliability on the field.
Key Portal Additions
Jackson and Moussa represent Louisville’s first two transfer portal pickups for the 2025 roster, adding proven experience and depth to the offensive line. Both players will look to make an immediate impact under Brohm’s leadership as the Cardinals aim to build on their recent success.
With these additions, Louisville takes a bold step toward solidifying its offensive front for the upcoming season.
