UK WSOC Marz Josephson Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week

Graduate goalkeeper Marz Josephson has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week following two consecutive shutouts, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Josephson’s Stellar Week
Josephson, a graduate transfer from North Carolina, earned her second SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor after helping the Wildcats secure back-to-back victories against Murray State and No. 9 UCLA. In Kentucky’s 2-0 upset over UCLA, Josephson made three crucial saves, continuing her outstanding form, having conceded just one goal across 576 minutes played this season.

Impressive Season Stats
With seven wins and four shutouts, Josephson ranks second in the SEC and fourth nationally with a stellar goals against average of 0.16.

Upcoming Match
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday, September 13th, when they host Kent State for Senior Night at the Bell Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
