Wide receiver Caullin Lacy has been named to the 2024 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced on Wednesday. The prestigious award annually recognizes the most outstanding receiver in college football, encompassing players who catch passes, regardless of their position.
The Biletnikoff Award honors the top receiver in college football, with eligibility extending to wide receivers, tight ends, slot backs, and running backs. Notably, the award is based on single-season performance, rather than career achievements. Past finalists include players from various positions, such as tight end Kyle Pitts in 2020.
Lacy, a transfer from South Alabama, has compiled an impressive collegiate career with 208 receptions for 2,521 yards and 13 touchdowns over four seasons. In the 2023 season, the Mobile, Alabama native led the Sun Belt Conference with 91 receptions for 1,316 yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded eight 100-yard receiving games, showcasing his ability to consistently perform at a high level.
The Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, consisting of 600 esteemed college football journalists, commentators, announcers, former Biletnikoff Award winners, and other ex-receivers, will determine the semifinalists, finalists, and the ultimate recipient of the award. Foundation trustees are not involved in the voting process.
This year’s Watch List includes players from 48 different schools, who collectively amassed over 45,000 total yards and 198 touchdowns in the previous season. While the majority of players on the list are offensive skill position players and return specialists, a few defensive backs and dual-position players are also represented.
