WKU Cross Country Announces 2024 Competition Schedule

WKU Cross Country head coach Lee Wood has unveiled the team’s competition schedule for the 2024 season, highlighting a focus on team culture and recruitment.

Wood expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season, noting the addition of 13 new distance athletes aimed at bolstering both the men’s and women’s programs. With six returners for the men’s squad and five for the women’s, WKU looks forward to building on last year’s successes.

The season kicks off with the Belmont Opener on August 30, followed by the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala., scheduled for September 13.

October features the Live in Lou Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky., followed by the Angel Mounds Invitational in Evansville, Ind., on October 18.

Postseason action begins on November 2 with the Conference USA Championships, hosted this year by Jacksonville State. Last season, the championships were held at Hobson Grove Park in Bowling Green.

The 2024 NCAA Southeast Regionals are slated for November 15 in Rock Hill, S.C., marking the culmination of the season for WKU Cross Country.
