After sharing the 2023-24 SIAC Western Division Regular Season title and finishing as runner-up in the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship, Kentucky State women’s basketball has released their 2024-25 schedule. This season, the Thorobreds will feature a balanced lineup of 13 home games and two exhibitions, promising an exciting season ahead for fans and players alike.
Season Kickoff and Exhibition Matchups
The season begins with a pair of exhibition games on the road, starting with a trip to Loyola Chicago on November 4, followed by a visit to Western Kentucky on November 9. The Thorobreds’ first official contest is set for November 8 in Owensboro, Kentucky, where they will take on Kentucky Wesleyan.
Home Opener and November Highlights
Kentucky State will kick off home play with a three-game stretch, starting against Trevecca Nazarene on November 12. The Thorobreds will then face Fort Valley State on November 16, and Simmons on November 19. A key matchup awaits on November 23, as the Thorobreds challenge regional powerhouse Lee University. They will wrap up November with home games against in-state rival Thomas More on November 23 and Savannah State on November 30.
Early December Action and Road Challenges
The Thorobreds will host SIAC rivals Edward Waters (December 2) and Albany State (December 7) before heading to Cleveland, Tennessee, to face Union. The team will continue their conference road stretch with a matchup against Clark Atlanta on December 16. The month concludes with a home game against Shawnee State on December 28.
Start of the 2025 Slate and Conference Play
The new year begins with a road trip to the Carolinas, where the Thorobreds will take on Allen on January 2 and Benedict on January 4. They will then return home to host Miles on January 11 and Lane on January 13. The team’s conference schedule continues with away games at Spring Hill on January 18 and Tuskegee on January 20, before closing January at home against LeMoyne-Owen on January 27.
February Highlights and Season Finale
Kentucky State’s Mini-Homecoming is set for February 1, featuring a matchup against Central State at 2 p.m. The Thorobreds will then wrap up the regular season with a series of conference clashes, beginning with a road game at LeMoyne-Owen on February 10. They will return home for games against Tuskegee (February 11) and Spring Hill (February 17). The season concludes with a three-game road stretch against Central State (February 22), Lane (February 24), and Miles (February 26).
