After a tightly contested first half, Tuskegee surged in the second half to defeat Kentucky State 76-61 on Wednesday night.

First Half: Neck-and-Neck Battle

The Golden Tigers started strong, opening with six unanswered points before Miller put Kentucky State on the board with a free throw at the 15:17 mark.

Miller later ignited an 8-0 run with a three-pointer at 5:53, briefly giving the Thorobreds a lead. Cordell Livingston added to the run with a free throw, but Tuskegee quickly countered, tying the game at 19-19 with 5:32 left in the half.

The teams traded baskets in the final minutes, entering halftime deadlocked at 28-28.

Second Half: Tuskegee’s Surge

Tuskegee broke the tie with a decisive 10-2 run at the 15:25 mark, building a 49-43 lead.

The Thorobreds fought back, with a three-pointer narrowing the gap to 53-51 with 8:41 remaining. However, the Golden Tigers responded with a commanding stretch to pull away, securing a 15-point victory.

The Thorobreds will remain at home as they close out their 2024 home schedule against Albany State. The matchup is set for Saturday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. in the Exum Center, where Kentucky State will look to bounce back and finish strong in front of their home crowd.
