EKU Women’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 ASUN Conference ScheduleEastern Kentucky University women’s basketball, in conjunction with the Atlantic Sun Conference office, announced the conference portion of its 2024-25 schedule on Friday morning.  The slate consists of nine home games and nine road games that will begin on January 2 and run through March 1.

Friday’s conference schedule drop marks year four in the ASUN Conference for EKU women’s basketball and head coach Greg Todd.  The Colonels are coming off a 22-12 record last season that ended in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), the program’s first national postseason tournament since 2013, and first 20-win season since 2005.

The full 2024-25 schedule will be announced at a later date.  Season ticket renewals and all season ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Like last year, the Colonels will open the campaign on the road for their first three games of the season against Austin Peay (Jan. 2), Lipscomb (Jan. 4), and the ASUN’s newest member institution, West Georgia (Jan. 8).

EKU will then return home for three games against North Alabama (Jan. 11), Austin Peay (Jan. 16), and in-state Bellarmine (Jan. 18).

Near the end of January, the Colonels will head to the Sunshine State for road games at Stetson (Jan. 23) and Florida Gulf Coast (Jan. 25) before ending the month hosting Jacksonville (Jan. 30).

The Colonels four-game home stand continues into February with dates against North Florida (Feb. 2), Stetson (Feb. 6), and Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 8).

In reverse fashion, EKU will spend the tail-end of February on the road with a four-game road swing at Queens (Feb. 13), Bellarmine (Feb. 15), North Florida (Feb. 20), and Jacksonville (Feb. 22).

EKU will round out its regular season with two home games against Central Arkansas (Feb. 27) and Lipscomb (March 1).  The team will then shift its focus to the 2025 ASUN Conference Tournament that runs from March 7-15.

With the departure of Kennesaw State to the Conference USA and the addition of West Georgia from Division-II, ASUN women’s basketball will revert from divisional play for the 2024-25 season.

EKU plays traditional home and away contests against Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, North Florida, and Stetson.  Home only games against Central Arkansas and North Alabama and away only games at Queens and West Georgia.

The 2024-25 schedule is highlighted by perennial favorite Florida Gulf Coast making its first trip to Richmond in EKU’s four seasons in the conference.  The Colonels are seeking their first win over the Eagles since 2007.

EKU owns a 29-27 (.517) record over ASUN Conference opponents since the Colonels joined the league in 2021.  Of those 29 wins, EKU is 12-3 over Queens (2-0), Bellarmine (5-1), North Florida (3-1), and Jacksonville (2-1) inside league play and is .500 or better against 8-of-10 current member institutions played.

EKU returns six student-athletes off last year’s squad, including the program’s all-time assist leader Alice Recanati and two other starters, Kaitlyn Costner and Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor.

The Colonels added seven newcomers to the 2024-25 roster this offseason, consisting of four freshmen and three transfers out of the portal.
