In the opening game of the 2026 KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena on March 10, 2026, Frederick Douglass defeated Henderson County with a decisive 44-23 victory.
Frederick Douglass controlled the matchup from start to finish, leading for nearly 32 minutes and never allowing Henderson County to take the lead. They built a commanding 24-8 advantage by halftime, stifling Henderson County’s offense and holding them to just two points in the second quarter.
Henderson County struggled significantly from the floor throughout the game, shooting just 15.4% (6-of-39) overall. Conversely, Frederick Douglass shot a solid 42.5% from the field and applied heavy defensive pressure, turning 17 Henderson County turnovers into 19 points.
