The 2024-25 non-conference schedule for the Louisville women’s basketball team continues to come together, with another key matchup announced on Thursday. The Cardinals will head to the sunshine state to take on South Florida as part of the WBCA Showcase the weekend before Thanksgiving. The game is scheduled for Sunday, November 24, at 1 p.m. ET at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
This matchup adds to an already challenging non-conference slate for Louisville. The Cardinals will open the season in Paris on November 4 against UCLA in the Aflac Oui-Play. They will host Oklahoma at the KFC Yum! Center on December 4 in the SEC/ACC Challenge and then travel to Brooklyn to face UConn at the Barclays Center as part of the Women’s Champions Classic on December 7. Additionally, Louisville will engage in their annual Battle of the Bluegrass against Kentucky, with the date to be announced.
The upcoming game against South Florida marks the 34th all-time meeting between the two programs. Louisville holds a dominant 29-4 advantage in the series, with the Cardinals winning the last six matchups. The two teams have a history of competing against each other as members of the Metro Conference, Conference USA, BIG EAST, and The American. The last time they faced off was in 2017, with Louisville securing a 66-52 victory in a Top-25 showdown in Tampa. This will be the first neutral-site meeting between the teams since 2014 when they clashed in the American Conference Semifinals in Uncasville, Connecticut.
As the Cardinals gear up for the new season, the WBCA Showcase game against South Florida will be another opportunity for them to test their skills against a formidable opponent.
