WKU VB Kaylee Cox Earns Fourth CUSA Offensive POTW Award

Kaylee Cox led the WKU Hilltoppers to a crucial sweep of the Sam Houston Bearkats, helping secure a share of the Conference USA (CUSA) regular season championship. Her outstanding performance in the two-match series earned her her fourth Offensive Player of the Week award of the 2024 season.

Cox finished the weekend with 28 total kills, posting a .411 hitting percentage (28-5-56). She averaged 4.67 kills per set while contributing four service aces and six total blocks, including four solo blocks. She also registered near-identical double-doubles in both matches, with 14 kills and 10 digs on Friday and 14 kills and 11 digs on Saturday.

The Texas native leads the Hilltoppers with 370 kills and 46 service aces, ranking her 26th in the country in total service aces. Cox has been instrumental in WKU’s success, contributing to a team hitting percentage of .303, which ranks fifth in the country.

The Hilltoppers will host their final regular season series against Liberty this Thursday and Friday, with both matches scheduled for 6 p.m. Prior to Friday’s match, the four WKU seniors, including Cox, will be recognized for their contributions to the program.
