No. 15 Kentucky remained undefeated with a hard-fought 79-67 comeback win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Monday night. Georgia Amoore and Dazia Lawrence led the Wildcats (5-0), combining for 44 points and nine three-pointers to help Kentucky rally from a nine-point deficit in the second half.
Amoore finished with 23 points, seven assists, and four three-pointers, while Lawrence scored 21 points, hitting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Despite trailing for most of the game — including a 38-33 halftime deficit — the Wildcats found their rhythm in the third quarter. Key plays included back-to-back three-pointers from Amoore and Lawrence to tie the game and a critical 11-0 run early in the fourth quarter that gave Kentucky control.
Lauren Ross was a standout for Purdue Fort Wayne (2-2), scoring 21 points with four three-pointers, including 14 in the first quarter. Shayla Freeman added 18 points and five assists, while Morgan contributed 11. However, the Mastodons couldn’t hold off Kentucky’s second-half surge.
Clara Strack overcame a tough shooting night (3-for-13) by making 8-of-9 free throws to score 14 points for Kentucky. Teonni Key contributed her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Kentucky native Cassidy Rowe added a crucial 6 points on two triples, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in 30 minutes of play.
Kentucky is off until Nov. 26, when they face Arizona State in the Music City Classic.
