Kentucky men’s soccer standouts Logan Dorsey and Martin Soereide have been honored with spots on the 2024 Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team, the league announced Sunday after the conclusion of the championship match.

“Really proud of Logan and Martin for making the all-tournament team,” said Kentucky head coach Johan Cedergren. “They both had excellent performances in the quarterfinal and semifinal matches to close out a pair of impressive college careers.”

Logan Dorsey
Senior forward Logan Dorsey capped off an outstanding season with pivotal contributions during Kentucky’s tournament run. The Evergreen, Colorado native accounted for both of the Wildcats’ goals across their two matches. In the quarterfinal, Dorsey converted a decisive penalty kick, his fifth game-winning goal of the season, to send Kentucky into the semifinals. There, he netted his 14th and final goal of the campaign, solidifying his place as the team’s leading scorer. Dorsey wrapped up his senior season with 14 goals, three assists, and a team-high 50 shots, including 29 on target.

Martin Soereide
Senior captain Martin Soereide played a crucial role in Kentucky’s midfield, showcasing his leadership and two-way ability during the tournament. The Jessheim, Norway product was instrumental in the Wildcats’ quarterfinal victory and their hard-fought semifinal clash. Over the course of the season, Soereide tallied three goals, two assists, and eight points while recording 15 shots, seven of which were on target. In the tournament, his efforts were key in limiting opposing offenses while contributing to Kentucky’s pressing style of play.

Kentucky’s season came to an end in the semifinal round, where the Wildcats fell 2-1 to top-seeded and eventual champion West Virginia. The Mountaineers secured the Sun Belt Conference double, adding the tournament title to their regular-season crown with a win over Marshall in the championship match.

As Dorsey and Soereide move on from their collegiate careers, their All-Tournament Team recognition serves as a testament to their impact and leadership throughout the 2024 campaign.
