The Kentucky State University women’s cross country team finished in 10th place at the 2024 SIAC Women’s Cross Country Championship on Wednesday, October 23, in Macon, Georgia.
The Thorobreds were led by Zhakeya Hawkins, who delivered a strong individual performance, finishing 18th overall with a time of 21:57.16. Kanylah Young followed, securing 56th place with a time of 26:09.53, while Iyanna Thompson-Carson was close behind in 58th place at 26:12.10. Hailey Tucker finished 63rd with a time of 26:26.03, and Alexandria Woods rounded out the team’s effort, crossing the line in 75th place with a time of 28:29.65.
Albany State won the team title, earning 40 points, with Tuskegee (52 points) and Central State (98 points) finishing in second and third, respectively.
Kentucky State will now shift its focus to refining their approach as they prepare for the upcoming indoor track season.
