Kentucky State men’s golf showcased its talent at the Kyle Ryman Memorial, held at the Mohawk Golf Course in Tiffin, Ohio, where junior Maximiliano Dufey finished strong, earning runner-up honors. The Thorobreds ended the tournament in fourth place overall.
Findlay clinched the tournament title with a solid team score of 4-over par, while Tiffin’s Mitchell Brassard excelled as an individual, finishing an impressive 7-under par to claim victory.
Dufey led the way for the Thorobreds, delivering consistent play with back-to-back rounds of 2-under par 70, finishing the tournament at 6-under par 210. His remarkable performance solidified his position as the top finisher for Kentucky State.
Senior Micah Stangebye also had a noteworthy showing, opening with a strong 2-under par 70 before finishing with scores of 73 and 75, landing him in a tie for seventh place at 2-over par 218.
Junior Robert Johnson improved throughout the tournament, carding a 1-under par 71 in his final round to climb eight spots and finish tied for 20th at 9-over par 225 (75-79-71).
Sophomore Cadyn Sava recorded rounds of 75, 84, and 78, while junior Jean-Marc Chevrotiere shot 83 in his opening round but bounced back with a 76 in the second round, finishing with an 81 in the final round.
Overall, the Thorobreds demonstrated their competitiveness and resilience, laying a strong foundation for the rest of the season.
