The Murray State women’s soccer team concluded their exhibition match on Thursday night against the Chattanooga Mocs in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

“I’m happy with large portions of the game, but see areas we must improve,” head coach Matt Lodge said. “We created enough chances to score more goals, but those things will come with time and more games under our belt.”

The Racers outshot the Mocs 9-7, with both teams earning three corners each.

“[Gavin McKinney] does a great job with his program at Chattanooga—always well prepared and organized,” Lodge added about the Mocs’ head coach. “They showed us some areas we can strengthen, which is why we play these games. We have a week to prepare for our season opener, and I love the spot we are in right now.”

Murray State will kick off the 2024 regular season on Thursday, August 15, at 6 p.m. CT, facing Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
