Kentucky State Volleyball Set for 2024 Season Under New Leadership

The Kentucky State women’s volleyball team is gearing up for a 23-game season in 2024, set to kick off on August 28 with an away game against Kentucky Wesleyan.

New head coach Keith Jones will make his debut on the road, leading the Thorobreds in a 7 p.m. match against Kentucky Wesleyan. The team will then travel to Wilmore on September 4 to face Asbury.

Kentucky State’s home opener is scheduled for September 5, when they take on the University of the Cumberlands at 6:30 p.m. inside Bell Gym.

After their home debut, the Thorobreds will hit the road again, heading to Albany, Georgia, for the SIAC East/West Crossover on September 20-21. They’ll face Savannah State and Allen on the 20th, followed by matchups against Albany State and Fort Valley State on the 21st.

The grind continues with the SIAC West Division Cluster in Mobile, Alabama, from October 4-5. The Thorobreds will battle Miles and Tuskegee on Friday, then square off against Spring Hill on Saturday.

Memphis, Tennessee, will be the next stop on October 11-12 for another West Division Cluster. There, Kentucky State will clash with Edward Waters and Clark Atlanta on Friday, followed by a Saturday match against Benedict.

After a long stretch on the road, the Thorobreds will return to Bell Gym on October 19 to host Clark Atlanta.

Their final SIAC Cluster of the season will take them to Jackson, Tennessee, on October 25-26. They’ll face Spring Hill and Miles on Friday before wrapping up against Tuskegee on Saturday.

Kentucky State will then enjoy a pair of conference home matches, welcoming Lane on November 1 and LeMoyne-Owen on November 2.

The 2024 regular season will conclude with three road games, starting with LeMoyne-Owen on November 8, Lane College on November 9, and finishing with a rivalry match against Central State on November 16.
