The University of Kentucky’s women’s tennis team will be well-represented at the 2024 Lexington Challenger, with Zoe Hammond, Ellie Eades, and Elizabeth Stevens competing in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) division. The event, presented by Meridian Wealth Management, will take place at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center from July 29 to August 4.

Play will commence on Monday, July 29, with the men’s tournament already underway but delayed due to inclement weather. Hammond, a junior from Edmonton, Oklahoma, is set to kick off her singles competition during the evening session on Monday. She will compete in the first round of the women’s singles qualifier on Stadium Two. Hammond is slated to face Canada’s No. 8-ranked Kayla Cross following the fourth match of the day, which features Americans Katrina Scott and Carrie Beckman.

Later in the tournament, Eades and Stevens will team up for doubles play. The match time and date for their debut have yet to be announced, as they aim to make their mark in the prestigious event. The Lexington Challenger serves as a significant opportunity for these Wildcats to showcase their talents on an international stage.
