After a two-week break, the Kentucky Men’s Tennis team is set to continue its 2024 fall campaign at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in West Lafayette, Indiana. The tournament, held from October 10-14 at Purdue University’s Schwartz Tennis Center, will provide opportunities for the two singles finalists and the doubles champion to qualify for the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships.

Representing Kentucky in the singles draw are Martin Breysach, Charlelie Cosnet, Jack Loutit, and Jaden Weekes, while Matt Rankin and Eli Stephenson will compete in both singles and doubles.

Cosnet and Weekes are coming off strong performances at the ITA All-American Championships last month, where both Wildcats qualified for the main draw. Weekes, a junior from Montreal, Canada, advanced to the Round of 32, winning six straight matches before falling in a tight three-setter against Florida State’s Corey Craig. Weekes, a 2024 All-SEC Second Team member, holds a 9-1 record this fall, bolstered by a perfect 3-0 start at the SEC Challenge.

Breysach and Rankin have also enjoyed success in the fall season, with each player claiming a tournament title in September. Breysach, a junior transfer from Baylor, won the Louisville Invitational Flight A title with four straight victories, while Rankin, a sophomore from Edinburgh, Scotland, secured the top flight championship at the EKU Invite, posting a 5-1 record in 2024.

The Ohio Valley Regional includes schools from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio, and is one of 13 regional tournaments taking place across the country. In total, 26 singles and 13 doubles selections for the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships will be determined from these events. Remaining spots in the championship draws will be awarded at the ITA Sectional Championships and ITA Conference Masters.
