Kentucky State Volleyball Falls to Asbury 3-1 in Season Opener

Despite a third-set victory and a late rally in the fourth, Kentucky State fell to Asbury 3-1 in their women’s volleyball season opener in Wilmore, Kentucky.

A pair of seniors led the Thorobreds on the stat sheet. Amber Gregory co-led the match with 18 assists, while Timaia Sugars paced her team with eight kills, one ace, and one block. Junior Jaicee Corcoran contributed 12 digs in the match.

The Eagles took control early, winning the first two sets 25-17, but the Thorobreds battled back in the third, securing a 25-21 victory. In the fourth set, Kentucky State rallied late with five consecutive points but ultimately fell 25-12, giving Asbury the match.
