University of Louisville senior defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte has been named a first team Associated Press Preseason All-American. This recognition comes after Gillotte was also named a first team Preseason All-American by CBS Sports.
Last season, Gillotte earned second team All-American honors and delivered his best performance yet, tallying 11.0 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. His standout game came in a victory over Boston College, where he recorded a career-best 3.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. Ranked eighth nationally in sacks, the Boca Raton, Fla., native was a runner-up for the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year Award and earned first team all-conference honors.
The Cardinals will kick off their 2024 season at home against Austin Peay on Aug. 31 at Noon on the ACC Network.
