Kentucky’s aquatic stars are proving they’re as sharp in the classroom as they are in the pool. The Wildcats just landed a whopping 22 student-athletes on the CSCAA Scholar All-American Team, showing they’ve got the brains to match their brawn.

The blue and white dominated the honor roll with 15 women and seven men making the cut. Five Cats took it a step further, nabbing first-team status by not just acing their classes but also splashing their way to the NCAA Championships.

“We’re not just building champions in the pool,” UK head coach Lars Jorgensen told the Courier Journal. “We’re molding scholar-athletes who excel in every aspect of their college experience.”

To earn this academic accolade, these aquatic aces had to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while also meeting strict time standards or diving qualifications. It’s no small feat when you’re balancing grueling practices with hitting the books.

But the individual honors aren’t the only thing making waves. Both the men’s and women’s teams collectively earned Scholar All-America Team status, proving that academic excellence is part of the Wildcat swimming and diving DNA.

As Kentucky gears up for another season of SEC battles, they’re proving that their greatest victories might just be happening outside the pool. These Cats are diving into success, both in and out of the water.
