Three current University of Kentucky rifle stars, Liz Probst, Braden Peiser, and Brandon Evans, showcased their skills at the 2024 USA Shooting National Championships, each finishing in the top 20 in every event they participated in last week.
Probst, set to be a true freshman at Kentucky this fall, finished 16th overall in the 10m women’s air rifle championship, ranking as the 11th-best junior. Her standout performance was in the 50m women’s three-position championships, where she finished seventh overall and fourth among juniors.
Peiser, coming off an impressive freshman season at Kentucky, placed in the top five in all three events he competed in. He claimed the junior championship in the 10m men’s air rifle and finished fourth overall. In the 50m men’s three-position event, Peiser also finished fourth overall and second among juniors.
Probst and Peiser teamed up for the 10m air rifle team event, finishing fourth overall.
Incoming Kentucky transfer Brandon Evans also had strong showings. He finished 13th overall and sixth among juniors in the 10m men’s air rifle. In the 50m men’s three-position event, Evans placed 18th overall and seventh among juniors.
