The Kentucky swimming & diving team has unveiled its 2024-25 schedule, as announced by Head Coaches Bret Lundgaard and Ted Hautau. This season’s lineup features four home meets at the Lancaster Aquatic Center and includes matchups against five teams that finished in the final CSCAA Top-25 of 2024.
Season Overview:
- Blue vs. White Intrasquad Meet: The season kicks off on September 20 with the Blue vs. White intrasquad meet at 4 p.m. inside the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
- Season Opener: Kentucky’s official season opener will be on October 19, as the Wildcats travel to Columbus, Ohio, for a dual meet against Ohio State at 1 p.m.
- First Home Meet: The Wildcats’ first home dual meet will take place on October 25, where they will face off against West Virginia at 2 p.m.
- Tennessee Invitational: On November 20-22, Kentucky will compete in the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville, followed by a home dual meet against Tennessee on December 13.
- Toyota U.S. Open & USA Diving Winter National Championships: The Wildcats will also participate in the Toyota U.S. Open (Dec. 4-7) and the USA Diving Winter National Championships (Dec. 7-15) to close out the year.
- January Meets: After the holiday break, the women’s team will travel to Vanderbilt and the diving squad to the Georgia Invite on January 3. The team will then compete in a tri-meet against Purdue and Notre Dame’s women in West Lafayette, Indiana, on January 11. Kentucky returns home to host Auburn on January 17 and will face Cincinnati on the road the following day. The final home dual meet of the season will be on January 25 against Louisville, which will also serve as Senior Day.
Championship Season:
- SEC Championships: The 2024-25 SEC Championships will be hosted by Georgia from February 17-22.
- First & Last Chance Meets: Kentucky will participate in the First Chance meet in Louisville on February 6-7 and the Last Chance meet in Knoxville on February 28-March 1.
- NCAA Diving Zones & CSCAA National Invite: NCAA Diving Zones will take place in Louisville from March 14-16, while the third annual CSCAA National Invite will be held in Ocala, Florida, from March 13-15.
- NCAA Championships: The season will culminate with the Women’s NCAA Championship in Federal Way, Washington, from March 19-22, followed by the Men’s NCAA Championship from March 26-29.
Team Highlights:
- Returning Qualifiers: Kentucky returns five NCAA individual qualifiers from the 2023-24 season, including three men and two women.
- 2023-24 SEC Performance: Last season, the women’s team placed ninth in the SEC, while the men’s team finished 10th in the conference.
This season presents an opportunity for the Wildcats to build on last year’s performances and make a strong showing in both conference and national competitions.
